The Hampshire Bird Club is entirely volunteer run and we succeed when people generously give of their time and skills. Don't think you have anything to offer? You'd be surprised. Some of our best, most invested volunteers didn't think they did either.
Hospitality Committee (formerly known as the Refreshments Committee)
Coordinate and setup snacks and beverages at in-person member events (roughly seven per year). Welcome members new and old at said events to create a welcoming environment for all.
Social Media Publishers
Create posts and on Instagram and Facebook (and, if we can ever get the login figured out, X (formerly known as Twitter), and reply to comments to keep the club's social presences lively and engaged.
Boutique Coordinator (Merchandise Coordinator)
Sell HBC related items (hats, shirts, etc.) at in-person club events, place orders as needed. Soon HBC merchandise will be available for purchase online so experience with website and some light shipping would be ideal.
Field Trip Committee
Are you good with organizing events? Want to help shape the field trips the club puts on? Well, we have the position for you. A handoff from the current field trip coordinator will get you off to a good start!
Field Trip Leaders
With many of our venerable trip leaders retiring from trip leading, we are looking for the next generation of field trip leaders to carry the torch our older members lit. Training will be provided.
One of the challenges we face as the club grows is getting the word out about all the different events and offerings the club has. We are looking for someone who has experience in PR or marketing but will work with the right person.
Christmas Bird Count Leaders
The Northampton Christmas Bird Count (CBC) is one of the largest CBC's in the country and has been around for over eighty years. We are looking for leaders to support this fantastic event to keep this great legacy alive.
