For years, a colony of Cliff Swallows has nested on the Rowe Town Hall. Last year, after the nesting season, the town voted to remove the nesting structures. This puts one of the largest Cliff Swallow colonies in the state in jeopardy.
The good news is that ornithologist, Mara Silver, has committed to building a new Cliff Swallow nesting structure nearby. A recent educational event was held and donations were accepted, however Mara remains short of the $2400 it will cost to build these new structures.
So, as a club, we are holding a fundraiser to support this good work. Any donation made between now and April 14th will go directly to Mara for the construction of new Cliff Swallow nesting structures. Additionally, the board will match the first $250 in donations made by fellow club members.
Thank you in advance for considering this worthwhile cause.
