Join Aaron Hulsey and Brian Zylich for an early spring trip at Great Pond. We will look for migrating waterfowl on the pond, as well as other early migrants and residents. Birds likely to be seen include American Wigeon, Green-winged Teal, Wood Duck, and Hooded Merganser. This is also a good location for other less common ducks/waterfowl. Trip leaders will have at least one scope for viewing distant ducks on the water. The dirt road is flat but can be uneven and muddy. Snow may also possibly still be on the ground – wear appropriate footwear. This area is known to be cold and windy, so dress warmly. We will meet at 7:00 am at the intersection of Main St. and Cow Bridge Rd. in Hatfield. We can then carpool or lead the way to Great Pond Rd. where most of the walk will take place. We'll walk approximately 1.5–2 miles, less if we can drive further down the road. Please note there are no facilities or rest areas. Questions? Email Aaron at thomas.hulsey487@gmail.com. Limited to 10 participants. Register online. (M)
