This trifecta event marks our first club meeting of the year. There is a BYO picnic, a bird walk before the picnic, and a stationary birdwatch for those who prefer this. The bird walk will begin at 10 AM with leaders Amanda Kallenbach and Aaron Hulsey. In addition, stationary birdwatching will be offered near the parking area and fields that offer an abundance of birds for ID-ing and viewing. Following the walks, from 11 AM to noon, there are a variety of activities to choose from including a Bird Tales and Jokes Circle and other creative activities, as well as an opportunity to join the Family and Member Club Scavenger hunt led by Alex Fuselier. At 12 PM our BYO picnic begins. We will have a sharing table as well if you’re inspired to bring something. Please bring your own utensils to serve; compostable plates and napkins will be available. Be sure to visit the HBC Boutique to check out bargains on T-shirts and sweatshirts. Don't miss the debut of the new vibrant colors of our HBC hats.
You must register in advance on the HBC website (under the Events tab) so that we can plan for parking and materials. Carpooling or biking is encouraged. The walk and picnic are for HBC members and their families only. Please note that Arcadia admission is free for members of Mass Audubon, HBC members, and residents of Easthampton and Northampton. Others pay an admission fee of $4, or $3 for seniors and children ages 2–12. There will be some chairs available; bringing your own is suggested.
