Crows are among the most intelligent of birds, and winter time presents an opportunity to observe crows at their urban roost sites. Springfield hosts one of the largest roosts in the state with over 7,000 birds gathering each evening around sunset. We will meet in Springfield to view the roost. The exact location may change each night, so details on where to meet in Springfield will be provided to the participants a day or two before the program.

Prior to the program participants are invited to a zoom presentation to learn about crows and winter roosts. This is highly recommended to help you better understand what you are observing on the field trip.

This trip will be led by Patti Steinman, who has years and years of birding experience. The meeting location for this trip will be determined a few days before the event.

There will be a limit of twelve participants for this trip.
